Flamecraft
Flamecraft | A Cosy Game of Dragons, Shops and a Town Worth Visiting
A pot of tea on the table, rain on the window, and a little town of shops slowly coming to life — the bakery warmed by a bread-loving dragon, the potion shop glowing a bit brighter each round. Flamecraft is the kind of game you settle into rather than battle through.
You're a Flamekeeper, wandering town to help its shops thrive. On your turn you visit a shop to gather goods and a favour from the dragons working there, or use what you've collected to enchant a shop and earn reputation. Each dragon has a speciality — bread, meat, iron, crystal, plants or potions — and placing the right dragon in the right shop is where the clever little combos come from. Gather the most reputation by the end and you win.
Why it's worth bringing to the table
- Gentle, not cutthroat. Everyone's building up the same charming town, so there's no attacking each other or wrecking someone's plans.
- Beautiful to sit around. The dragon artwork and little shops make it inviting for family members who'd usually walk past a board game.
- A step up, not a leap. A great next game once Ticket to Ride or Dorfromantik has become a favourite — more to think about, without becoming hard work.
- Plays solo, too. A full solo mode makes it a lovely quiet-evening game on your own.
